Being at that halfway point in the semester can be stressful to say the least. With all of your academic responsibilities, extracurricular activities, as well as balancing a job and friends, feeling burned out is inevitable. Taking some time for yourself to refuel and relax is important for your wellbeing. Here are some ways you can de-stress:

Listen to music

There’s a reason why music is used as a therapy technique. Make your own playlist, or find one on Spotify or Pandora.

Add some color

Adult coloring books have grown in popularity over the past few years. They’re fun, plus you get to tap into your creative side.

Get moving

Minimize those stress hormones by going for a walk or taking an aerobics class. Get those endorphins flowing.

Get some TV time

It’s hard to binge watch during the week. But, taking an hour to watch a couple episodes of your favorite or newly discovered show is a good distraction.

Bake somethin’

Every now and then, you need to indulge that sweet tooth. Baking provides some aromatherapy, plus some delicious results.

Get outside

Sometimes you just need a change of scenery. Explore your city, go for a hike, lay out in the park or go for a bike ride.

Give back

Volunteering is a great way to help people in need. By helping others in your community you can do some good deeds as well as acquire some new skills. Organizations are always looking for people to lend a hand, so the opportunities are endless.
