Happy First Week of Fall, everyone! Since we’re getting into the swing of things with back-to-school, I figured I’d put together a little list of fun things to do this fall season!
- Go to a pumpkin patch
Wilmington is home to a few different pumpkin patches– I’d totally suggest a trip as soon as possible. They have the cutest pumpkins there, whether you’re looking for Halloween decor or a photo op. You can even take it a step further and do some pumpkin carving after! They’re selling kits for pumpkin carving everywhere now!
2. Go Halloween shopping
As soon as September hits (or August, you do you), it’s completely acceptable to start decorating for Halloween. If you have the means, take a trip to the nearest craft store and pick up some spooky decorations! I’ve already started with pumpkin string lights and the cutest little ghost decor from the dollar tree! They also have some adorable black cat and pumpkin decorations.
3. Go apple picking
You might have to venture outside Wilmington a little for this one, but I’d absolutely suggest going apple picking! Apple picking is one of my favorite fall activities, and it’s always a fun and affordable way to spend the day with friends. Plus, all of the delicious apples you get afterward aren’t so bad either. :) Also, most apple orchards sell apple cider as well. I’d suggest picking some of that up too, as apple cider is definitively the best fall beverage.
4. Plan your Halloween costume
On the off-chance you haven’t had your Halloween costume planned since July, now is a GREAT time to start planning! All of the Halloween stores nearby are open now, so go check out what they have to offer! For the first time ever, I have no idea what I’m going as this year– suggestions are needed!
5. Do a Halloween movie marathon
Hocus Pocus, anyone? The best part of fall is all of the Halloween movies we can watch now! Whether you’re into It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, or straight-up horror movies, there’s something here for everyone. Grab some apple cider and cozy blankets because it’s time for movie night!
Happy Fall!
