1. Keep a routine
Workout, make the most of your days. Have fun of course, but waking up early a few morning out of the week will make getting back in the swing of things come spring semester less painful.
2. Read Self Help Books and Blogs
While there’s more down time than usual, you might as well use it to improve yourself. Here’s an example from Wanderlust.com on how to Trigger Positive Thinking.
3. Search for Internships
Depending on where you want to intern, December can be the perfect time to search for opportunities. If you start looking in December and see that it’s too late, you’ll be even more prepared for the next round of internship deadlines!
4. Maintain Professional Contacts
Networking is fun and important! If appropriate, mail holiday cards to favorite professors, mentors, or any other professionals you’ve become close with. They’ll remember the gesture!

5. Volunteer
It’s essential to give back, especially over the holidays because people matter, not things. Get plugged in with a volunteer connection at home or contact places of interest now for next semester and let them know you’d like to lend a hand!
