50 Things To Do Over Winter Break

Winter break is a time for cleansing, changing, reorganizing, and relaxing just before it’s time to start another semester. With one month off, you’re bound to have some free time to catch up with family and friends, but the break is also great for figuring out your future and focusing on yourself. So, Her Campus has compiled a list of 50 fun and productive things to do during the break in the hopes that everyone comes back refreshed and ready to conquer another semester.

 

 

  1. Start researching and applying for summer and/or fall internships.

  2. Order your textbooks for the spring semester.

  3. Clean your room and/or apartment.

  4. Go on a road trip with friends.

  5. Reorganize your iTunes library.

  6. Go sledding or build a snowman.

  7. Take your dog for a walk.

  8. Do something nice for your parents, like cooking dinner or cleaning the house.

  9. Complete an art project you’ve always wanted to do.

  10. Read a book you’ve been meaning to read for awhile.

  11. Watch an entire series on Netflix.

  12. Go see a movie at the theater.

  13. Go ice skating during public hours at your local ice rink.

  14. Volunteer your time for a cause you believe in.

  15. Clean out your room of everything you don’t want or don’t use and give the items to charity.

  16. Do thirty minutes of yoga for an entire week.

  17. Try doing something you’ve always wanted to do.

  18. Go rock climbing at your local climbing gym.

  19. Visit your grandparents and treat them to lunch.

  20. Write thank you letters for those who gave you Christmas gifts.

  21. Research future careers you might be interested in.

  22. Edit your resume so it looks as professional as possible.

  23. Add connections on LinkedIn and start networking.

  24. Try out new holiday recipes to bring to family events.

  25. Go Christmas shopping, keeping your budget in mind.

  26. Get headshots taken to add to your professional profile.

  27. Reconnect with friends you’ve lost touch with.

  28. Visit your favorite teachers from high school.

  29. Go on a road trip to nowhere and discover a new store or town.

  30. Take a day to go on a hike.

  31. Get all of your supplies for the spring semester in order.

  36. Buy a 2016 daily planner and mark down important dates and deadlines.

  37. Spend some time shopping for a professional wardrobe.

  38. Plan and host a New Year’s Eve party with friends.

  39. Make appointments with your doctor and/or dentist.

  40. Go skiing, snowboarding, or tubing.

  41. Have an outdoor bonfire with hot cider and s’mores.

  42. Go to a professional sports game.

  43. Drive around your neighborhood to admire all of the holiday decorations.

  44. Spend an entire day in your pajamas.

  45. Get a group of friends together and organize a snowball fight.

  46. Read your syllabi for the spring semester.

  47. Enter and complete a 5K.

  48. Go through your social media accounts and delete or unfollow people you don’t know.

  49. Start a hobby that’s always been of interest to you.

  50. Catch up on some much needed sleep.
