Meet junior Aria Lipscomb, the president of NPHC (National Pan-Hellenic Council)! This campus celebrity is doing great things for the community and Greek life as she leads the African American Greek organizations at UNCW. Read on to learn more about her role as president of NPHC and how she is using her position to bring unity to all Greek organizations!   Â
Â
HC: What are your responsibilities as president of NPHC?
AL: My job as NPHC president is to advocate for the black sororities and fraternities on campus while creating unity among the other Greek organizations on campus and building a bridge between students at large. Â
Â
HC: What are some ways that you are creating unity with other Greek organizations?
AL: Every Greek organization does community services projects so we try to include other organizations in some of our projects. We also have mentor programs that we do together. With the Greek life at UNCW, it helps that all of our organizations are small because we are able to accomplish a lot more when we come together.
Â
HC: How did you become involved with this organization?
AL: I am involved with NPHC because I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Along with my membership in AKA, I have also been given the opportunity to become a member of NPHC. I was selected in April to be the President of NPHC for my hard work and dedication that I represented in my sorority.
Â
HC: What is something that you want students to know about NPHC?
AL: NPHC is a unique organization that really brings different personalities and people together with a common goal of service to all mankind. Everyone should be on the lookout for our upcoming events because we have some really fun things coming up!
Â
HC: What is the best part of being NPHC president?
AL: There are a lot of things I enjoy about my position but the best is being able to represent an amazing organization and to meet and interact with new people every day.
