5 Easy Low Calorie Spring Drinks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

With summer approaching, now is definitely not the time to be loading up on high calorie alcoholic bevs. If you haven’t realized it already, hard alcohol and beer are high in calories to begin with. Even worse are the high calorie chasers and mixers most girls use, such as orange, cranberry, and pineapple juice or sugary sodas. Here are 5 suggestions for lighter drinking if you’re into beer, rum, vodka, or tequila!

Bud Select
Budweiser just came out with a new Bud Select Premium that is only 55 calories a bottle!

Mike’s Lite Hard Lemonade
What’s better than Mike’s Hard Lemonade? Mike’s Lite Hard Lemonade! The regular flavor has only 109 calories a bottle, and the cranberry flavor has 119.

Rum, Diet Coke or Coke Zero
While rum and coke is a sure classic, you can beat the system by mixing with diet coke or coke zero. You’re eliminating 140 calories just by switching your chaser!

Vodka, Water, Crystal Light packets
If you love lemonade, this is the spring season drink for you. Add water to your portion of vodka, than pour in a packet of Crystal Light (10 calories for the whole pack). If you’re looking for a fruitier flavor, choose Pinnacle Tropical Punch for your vodka.

Tequila, low cal margarita mixes
I recently saw quite a few low calorie margarita mixes at the DUMP. Master of the Mixes Lite Margarita Mix has only 10 calories per serving, and you just have to add tequila!

***ps! Your Campus Correspondent Laura, also recommends trying tequila with a soda water, and a splash of OJ and a splash of lime juice! Hello delicious tequila drink, good-bye thousand calorie sour mix!***

Happy Drinking!
