5 Halloween Drinking Games

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

So, Halloween’s approaching, and since it so conveniently lands in the middle of the week this year, we have not one, but two weekends to celebrate. Not only does this mean two or three more costumes we have to come up with, but two or three more nights of drinking Halloween-style. So, whether you choose to stay in with your friends or go out to a house party, there’s always a fun way to celebrate, college-style. Here’s a list of drinking games you can try to spice up your six nights of Halloween this year:

1. Bobbing for Alcohol: Purchase a variety of nips and put them in a large bucket of water; whichever nip you pull out with your teeth, you have to drink. If you want to be a little less original, you can still use apples- just carve numbers into the apples, and whichever apple you pull out, you have to take that many shots, sips, etc.

2. Horror Movie Drinking: This game idea would call for a little bit more creativity. Pick out your favorite scary movie (I’d choose any out of the Halloween series) and make a bunch of simple drinking rules. You can shotgun a beer every time someone is murdered or take a shot every time someone gets killed or just drink every time the victim trips and falls.

3. Fill the Pumpkin: This game would work a little something like Kings, but instead of using a beer or a mixed drink in a cup, you use a plastic pumpkin; the players who pick the Kings can make anyone drink, the players who pick fours or eights must pour a shot-sized portion of their drink into the pumpkin, and the player who picks the aces must drink whatever is in the pumpkin (however gross it may be).

4. Trick or Treat: For this game, there would be one shot of something disgusting, such as Zhenka or Rubinoff (Trick) and one shot of something delicious, such as Bacardi or Skyy (Treat). This game really only works if the alcohols are the same color- because you get what you pick!
5. Halloween Punch Pong: Play this game just like you do beer pong but instead of using beer (or water for us cheap college students), use one of the drinks in our earlier article: www.hercampus.com/school/unh/5-creepy-cocktails-magic-mixes
