Let’s face it, when 3 or 4 o’clock rolls around; we’re all dragging around ready to go to bed right then and there. While these shops don’t offer IV’s of iced coffee, they do provide delicious treats that will bring us from 0 to 10 after a few sips! So hop in your car or get some fresh air and get that caffeine boost of energy that you need! Here are some of the top places for you coffee addicts!
1. Starbucks
While this may be bias, Starbucks is the ultimate caffeine boost. They have the strongest double brewed iced coffee you can find. (And no they are not 5 bucks a cup!) Stick to a plain iced coffee with any flavor you’d like added and it’s under 2 bucks! Starbucks allows you to be as creative as you want and try a pump of this or that, they’ll gladly accommodate your scientific drink for you. Try their pumpkin spice latte for the fall season, you’ll be glad you did. And if you’re really ‘havin’ a day’ go for the trenta size, it works miracles!
2. Breaking New Grounds
This is an easy walk to get that energy level moving again! They provide couches and free Internet as well, so if you’re really dreading the quiet room of the library and love some John Mayer tunes playing try to get some work done there. You can get a regular iced coffee or go for a great fresh brewed iced tea. Try the heavenly delight; they called it that for a reason.
3. The Shack or “the Coffee House”
Now this is the place to go if you have a sweet tooth, they offer daily specials of flavored iced coffee. The Shack is just that, a little wooden house that sells delicious drinks and seasonal delights, so head to the Shack and surprise yourself with a delicious dessert drink! The Shack is located in Newmarket; bear right at the light when leaving campus before Irving and continue on that road. The Shack will be on your left just a few miles down. You can’t miss it!
4. Java Hut
Similar to the Shack, Java Hut is a small little hut with great coffee and flavored Red Bulls. If you have never had a flavored Red Bull, you are missing out! I personally love the pomergrante ones! Although I’ve never head a bacon egg and cheese from there, I hear they are pretty fantastic. As you’re driving through Dover, off Madbury Rd, you can’t miss that famous hot dog sign, dare you to try one! (Let us know how it goes!)
5. Dunkin Donuts
With Fall on it’s way, Dunkin Donuts has tons of fun drinks that are without caffeine like hot apple cider! They have the usual menu that everyone knows but with a few added bonuses like the frozen hot chocolate or a refreshing iced tea with lemon. Whatever you’re looking for Dunks has got it ready for ya conveniently located right in the Irving gas station leaving campus (walk able from anywhere on campus!).
So, whatever you need or crave these are the top five places you will find them! Try all five and find your favorite drinks at every location that way no matter where you go, you’ll always have a default drink to get you through the day! Happy energizing!
