Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! I know that some people might say it’s a cheesy holiday, but honestly it’s one of my favorites. I’ve never actually had a boyfriend for Valentine’s Day, and I am sticking to that trend this year, but I like to show myself some self love. I celebrate by getting some chocolates and candy, cuddling up in my bed, lighting some candles, and watching some cute romantic movies. Some of my favorites that you can watch on Netflix are:

  1. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

This is one of my go-to romantic movies on Netflix. It was originally a book series written by Jenny Han that was turned into a movie. The two main characters are played by Noah Cetineo and Lana Condor. This movie always makes me smile and is super cute. The storyline includes love letters, a fake boyfriend, and a steamy hot tub scene. To All the Boys: P.S I Still Love You, which is the second movie in this series, will be released February 12, 2020 on Netflix, right in time for V-Day!

  1. After

This movie is super real and raw showing a girl falling in love for the first time and showing how messy it can truly be. While the ending is not the “happy ever after” as many romantic movies, it shows how being honest is so important in a relationship and how lying can really hurt your significant other. The two main characters are played by Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes-Tiffin. This movie actually started out as a fan-fiction, then turned into a book series, and now a movie series.

  1. The Kissing Booth

This movie is your sweet and cheesy high school love story. The main characters Joey King, who plays Elle, and Jacob Elordi, who plays Noah, are two incredible actors. This is definitely a go to if you just want to smile. The storyline includes the struggles in a relationship when falling for your best friend’s brother. This movie also started out as a book.

  1. P.S. I Love You

P.S. I Love You is a heartfelt romantic movie. It is very emotional and definitely a tearjerker. The plot is about a woman named Holly, played by Hilary Swank, who loses her husband to a brain tumour. Her husband leaves her with letters taking her on a journey to help her process her grief. It is an amazing story that portrays loss in a real and relatable way.

  1. The Notebook

The Notebook is a classic romantic movie. I always end up sobbing at the end of it. So if you haven’t seen it, make sure you have a box of tissues nearby. This movie includes an epic love story with probably the best ending of all time. The two main characters are played by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. This story was originally a book by Nicholas Sparks.

Some more movies are:

Eat Pray Love

A Cinderella Story

Grease

Riptide

Dumplin

My Girl

Love, Rosie
