When it rains, looking cute can be difficult. Clunky rain boots, puffy coats-not to mention frizzy hair that you just spent close to half an hour trying to straighten-it’s not easy to find fashionable, feminine options. Yet fear not! They are out there! You just need to know where to look.

Rain Boots:
DSW
Like designer shoes for reasonable prices? Who doesn’t? DSW has plenty of cute designs like leopard print to solids for a tamer look. Prices range from $40-$60. For a cute pair of rain boots that’s not bad.

Betsey Johnson
If you want to make a statement, look no further then Betsey Johnson. Go to Zappos.com to find bright colors with crazy patterns: bright yellow boots covered in lime green tiger heads or neon blue boots covered in bold red roses. On Zappos.com, her rain boots typically run around $70. (Plus- who doesn’t love free shipping?!)

Hunter
A classic among rain boots, Hunter rain boots are actually comfortable and versatile.  Many UNH women wear their Hunters with leggings, jeans or even shorts.  One thing I love about Hunter boots, besides all of the color options, is the liners.  You can get fleece, fur or knit liners to provide an insulating layer when the weather gets cold.

(We love our pink Hunters!)

Rain Coats:
Urban Outfitters
UO has a wide selection of rain coats appropriate for all seasons. Edgy, sleek styles are especially popular, but you can also get a more standard silhouette like the North Face Venture jacket for $99.

Michael Kors
If you are into a trench rain coat get the Michael Kors version in red to stand out against the grey rain. It’s pricey at $250, but incredibly stylish and likely to turn a few heads-for all the right reasons.

The North Face
You can’t go anywhere around campus without spotting a girl in a North Face fleece or rain coat.  The North Face is a durable and economical.  When it comes to rain coats, you definitely need one with Gortex. This is more than just a shell, it actually repels the water away!

Umbrellas:
Target

A variety of different styles is offered at reasonable prices. Big clear bubble umbrellas are popular and only $20. You can also get patterns or a solid black eco friendly style for $25.

Hopefully these options will provide you with a variety of cute styles to stay fashionable when the weather is just kind of blah.
