Even though Summer 2020 was spent in the middle of a pandemic, I was still able to make it a fun and memorable time. I had my small group of friends and my family to hang out with and appreciated all of the moments we could spend together, especially when I had been apart from my friends for months. Any small adventure we took was fun because I knew how that could be taken away again. For Summer 2021 I know I’ll have great experiences, regardless of any limitations there may be. I’m setting these goals and looking forward to another good summer.
- Go on a Road Trip
-
Even if the road trip is just to a fun place in Connecticut, like a new beach or hiking spot, it’s very therapeutic to go on a drive. I want to explore all of the cool outdoor locations around me that I’ve never gone to before. Last summer I rented an Air BnB with my sister and best friend in Long Island, and that trip is one of my best summer memories.Â
- Learn Some New Guitar Songs
-
I made a lot of progress on the guitar over winter break, and want to continue making that progress over the Summer. I always miss my guitar when I’m at school and plan to finish learning Passenger’s “Life’s for the Living” and Cage the Elephant’s “Cigarette Daydreams”.
- Get Better at Frisbee GolfÂ
-
This one isn’t super serious, but I have a frisbee golf set and a local course that my family and I always go to. I haven’t won a single game yet out of the many I’ve played, but with a little more practice things I could get beyond my last place spot.
-
I don’t often read during the school year, and forget how much I like to read in my free time. Summer is the most free time that I’ll have, and my goal is to read at least five new books. Generally I’m a person who sticks to the same books and reads them over and over, but instead I want to go outside of my comfort zone. This includes readiing books outside of the fiction genre, or just reading romance-based books.
- Land an Internship
-
I really hope I land a good internship for the summer. I currently have an internship related to my Communication major, and want to continue learning and growing. The hope is to get an internship related to social media or PR, but any experience would be good.
- Have Outdoor Movie Nights
-
Overall I want to take advantage of the good weather and create memories this summer. Simple things like outdoor movie nights can be really fun, and I plan to spend as much time with my hometown friends as I can.
