A few weeks ago I made a trip to Wildkitty to grab some late night snacks and came upon a UNH Student playing guitar. We chatted for a minute and I was really inspired by his courage to sit outside Wildkitty and play his guitar! I then conducted an interview with him, and I found out so much more about him! If you ever stop by Wildkitty and see him playing, be sure to say hello!Â
Josh Villeneuve, the student I spotted outside Wildkitty, is from Bedford, NH. His father owns a generational home and his mother owns a condo. He has a little puppy at home named Boone and he has two siblings, one sister and one brother. He enjoys reading, drawing, streaming music, and of course, playing guitar. He stated, “Music takes my breath away when artists have the depth to highlight singing notes within their productions.”
Josh has been playing guitar for almost a year, and most nights you can find him at the gym. When asked why he sits outside Wildkitty playing, he said “I sit outside Wildkitty playing because I know that playing is going to lead me to a place of peace. Playing the music gives me an irreplaceable feeling of fulfillment. Watching videos from artists like Tommy Emmanuel and Mark Knopfler about their own personal journey’s and how they started to learn the professional study of music theory.” I then asked him about his inspiration. He said he was inspired by some of the world’s most brilliant artists such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Journey, Plain White T’s, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Johnny Cash, Morgan Wallen, Dire Straits, and Willie Nelson, Chris Stapleton, Kenny Chesney, Brett Young, Eric Church, Tyler Childers, Eric Clapton, Micheal Jackson. He stated, “Lots of Instrumental and country tracks & I do love pop but I don’t generally listen to it alone.”
Some of Josh’s other hobbies include drawing and fitness. He stated, “Starting a drawing can take up to 24 full hours to complete, depending on the grades of the shading. Since high school I’ve been interested in historical works and it’s an amazing stress outlet.” If you have any questions for Josh, want to book him for an event, or would just like to chat, you can message him at 603-325-1232!Â
