Must Haves For Oily Skin

Updated Published
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Like many, I have had plenty of nights where I have gone to bed without taking off my makeup or not washing my face. One goal I made for 2025 was to start taking better care of my skin, and investing in products that actually work. Im no skincare expert, but these are a few of my must haves for oily skin types while balling on a budget as a college student.

ANua Oil cleanser

$17.69- Amazon

Ever since using the Anua Oil Cleanser, my pores have reduced in size and my skin has never been softer. This oil cleanser is perfect for removing stubborn sebaceous filaments, and I saw improvements within weeks.

Tip: make sure to double cleanse when using this product! (this first, cleanser after)

Byoma Hydrating milky toner

$15.99- Target

I’m sure you’ve seen the Byoma Hyrdating Milky Toner all over TikTok as the Rhode Glazing Milk dupe, and it’s truly worth all the hype for just half the price. I have always had issues with my makeup becoming patchy throughout the day, and incorporating this into my routine was a quick fix.

Paulas choice 2% bha exfoliant

Mini size: $14.99- Sephora

This is yet again a fan favorite. The Paulas Choice exfoliant unclogs pours and works to control oil on the skin. As someone with large pores, this has been a savior.

BUBBLE LEVEL UP MOISTURIZER

$15.99- Amazon

Unlike other moisturizers that can feel heavy and greasy, this one is lightweight without leaving extra shine. If you have oily skin you know looking/feeling shiny is just the worst.

My name is Mia Taylor, I'm a junior studying communication, business applications at UNH. I live in Swampscott, Massachusetts, a small beach town north of Boston. I'm also apart of Alpha Chi Omega here at UNH. My town is very lively in the summertime and I enjoy going to local beaches and and working as a waitress at a beach front golf course. I have two small dogs named Lucky and Rosie, and am also a triplet with a brother and sister named Jacob and Ava. In my free time I enjoy taking the train into Boston and trying new restaurants and shopping on Newbury Street. I love everything beauty related such as, trying new skincare, makeup products, perfumes, and getting my nails done. I love posting on TikTok and creating new Pinterest Boards. On campus I love going to Local B, barre workout classes with friends, going to Emery Farms to study and get chai, and going downtown to Portsmouth to explore the shops and food. For my future I hope to work in social media, marketing, and/or public relations. My goal is to work with beauty brands such as Rhode, and Rare Beauty.
