I’ve been bleaching my hair for over eight years now, and have been on a hair care journey for the past three. As someone who never used to take care of my hair, I’ve seen so many improvements since adding these products into my routine on a somewhat friendly budget. Here’s my personal experience with these products and my top recommendations from the multiple products I’ve tried over the years.
Leave-in conditioner
If you were to buy one product for your hair, it should be a leave-in conditioner. I’ve tried several brands of leave-in conditioner, including Olaplex, It’s a Ten, Amika, Moroccanoil, Ouai, Raw Sugar, Briogeo, and Living Proof. These are all great options that fall under different prices. My top product that I still continue to repurchase is the It’s a Ten miracle leave-in product. This has been my tried and true since I started using it in 2020, and I will continue to repurchase this. This is a great affordable option that can be found at many stores including Target, Amazon, and Ulta. It smells great and leaves my hair feeling amazing, shiny, and soft.
Hair Oil
My split ends have tremendously improved once I started using hair oil. My favorite one is the Olaplex No. 7 hair oil, but you can achieve the same result using any hair oil brand. I prefer this brand because it doubles as a heat protectant and doesn’t weigh down my hair. The ends of my hair feel healthier, shinier, and less frizzy from using this product.
Hair Mask
The last product you must try is a hair mask. I use a hair mask in place of conditioner once a week, and I let it sit in my hair for five to ten minutes during my shower. I’ve tried a few including the Amika Soulfood nourishing mask, the Ouai thick hair mask, and the Living Proof restore repair mask. My favorite is the Ouai hair mask because it smells amazing and leaves my hair feeling the softest it’s ever been. These brands are a little pricier, but they usually last me about a year using it once a week in my shower routine.
