2025 NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS YOU CAN ACTUALLY FOLLOW

By Emma Soares

With the new year upon us, resolutions are approaching rapidly. “One year ago todays” are reminding us of all the things we wanted to accomplish and the mindsets we wanted to adopt. New Year’s resolutions can tend to be specific and hard to accomplish, leaving you with a feeling of disappointment in yourself. Instead of those goals, here are three new goals that are simpler and arguably more important. If you’re doing these, you’re doing good enough.

  1. Take care of your mental health

A lot of the time we get roped into making definite plans of the things we want to accomplish, but along the way we forget about the number one thing that has to happen before any dreams or goals- which is taking care of your mental health.

2. Be kind to strangers

You never know what people around you are going through, and sometimes smiling at a stranger or wishing them a good day is the only thing they need. Spreading positivity not only makes the receiver feel good, but also improves your own mood. Eventually, maybe the kindness will come back to you from another stranger spreading kindness.

3. Get fresh air once every day

Fresh air is extremely healing and sometimes all you may need is to sit outside and hear the wind or feel the sun. Although it may not be possible every day, aiming to get time outdoors as much as possible is a great way to improve yourself and make you not only feel better, but also make you feel more prepared to get stuff done.

Sometimes we refrain from making changes because we are hesitant on where to start. It is important to remember that as long as you’re trying your best, that is all that matters. Any change is change.
