Positivity is a powerful thing. We hear all the time to be optimistic and to find the silver linings in situations. But what exactly is optimist. An optimist is not someone who thinks everything is going to be alright but someone who knows that they will be alright despite everything. Truly, silver linings are everywhere but you have to have the right mindset to see them.
Some say that it’s easier to have lower expectations because then when something goes wrong you’re not disappointed and when something goes right you’re pleasantly surprised. I say that that’s a mistake. Why go through life expecting the worst? Set yourself high goals, believe the best in people, and try to get the best out of life. Here are some perks of living life with positivity.
1.    Spread Good Vibes
Nobody likes being around a person who is always negative. It’s exhausting. But being positive can be contagious. There’s enough bad going on in the world, there doesn’t need to be anymore. There are so many little things that can make someone’s day better. Enjoy the good in life and spread the good, as well.
2.    Things Will Work Out
It’s important to remember the BIG PICTURE. There’s going to be those times when nothing seems to be going right and it doesn’t even look like that it’s going to get better, either. It’s natural to feel bad about things for a little but don’t give yourself a pity party. You just have to believe that something good is right around the corner. It’s okay to not know what’s lies ahead and sometimes that can be stressful but having an optimistic outlook makes it better and makes you more hopeful.
2.  Be Kind
Nothing is worse than people who are unnecessarily rude to other people. There’s no reason to be mean and in my experience, usually the happiest people are the nicest. Everyone has the opportunity to make someone else’s day better so why not do it?

3.    You Are More Than A moment
It’s so easy to get discouraged over the little things. We all do it sometimes. But it’s important to think past that moment. So the next time you do poorly on an exam just remember that’s just one of many that you’ll have. It’s not ideal but it’s nothing to get bummed out over, at least for too long. Acknowledge your mistakes but move on. Don’t do yourself a disservice and dwell too long on them. Don’t just pay attention to the bad moments – you are more than that. You’re a combination of good and the bad. Be able to laugh at yourself and not take yourself too seriously. You’ll become a better person for it. If Jennifer Lawrence can laugh off tripping at the Oscars with millions of people watching, you can laugh off any mistake you make.Â

4.    Happiness Is Something We Create
How you choose to view a situation or experience can impact what you get out of it. Go into things with an open mind and a positive outlook and chances are you will be much happier with the outcome. And if things don’t go the way you expected, then look for the life lesson or something you can take away from it. If you don’t want to be happy chances are you won’t be. If you aren’t happy with where you are, ask yourself why and make some changes. Most importantly, make time to do things that make you happy
