The Best New England Fall Activities!

Updated Published
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Though I might be biased because I’m a born and bred New England girly at heart, New England truly has the most beautiful fall. The foliage is at its peak, and Durham NH weather is FINALLY cooling down, giving the truest fall vibes. Fall is definitely my favorite time of year and I feel extremely lucky to have lived in New England my whole life, because I can proudly say that I know the best fall spots around.

Brooksby Farm, Peabody ma

Brooksby Farm just has every fall thing you can imagine! They have huge apple orchards to pick apples from and a big pumpkin patch too! It also has the coolest farm store with really yummy food and the best apple cider donuts ever. They even have animals that you can feed! My personal favorites are the goats ๐Ÿ.

Growing up nearby, I’ve been going to Brooksby since I was a little girl! My family and I used to go on hay rides, tractor rides, go apple picking, and get pumpkins for carving competitions! It’s a small farm, but there is so much to do there. If you are ever in Peabody, or a surrounding town, I highly recommend going!

Applecrest Farm Orchard, Hampton Falls NH

If you go to UNH, you’ve definitely heard of Applecrest Farm Orchard! Less than a half an hour drive from the Durham campus, it’s a favorite of many UNH students. At Applecrest, there is so much to do including apple picking, pumpkin patches, a corn maze, a haunted hay ride, and more! Their farm store features homemade products from their fields, and it is so cute! They also have super yummy treats and really good apple cider.

Cumberland county fair, cumberland me

The Cumberland County Fair was recently introduced to me by my roommate who is from Maine, and it is awesome! It’s put on by the Cumberland Farmer’s Club and is usually held annually during the last week of September. Some of my favorites from the fair were the gigantic carousel, the really cute petting zoo, and eating the fried dough. Everything there is really family-oriented and so many people have been going there as a tradition going on for years.

As you can probably see, I’m definitely a fall activities connoisseur. Some of my other fall favorites include pumpkin cream chai lattes from Starbucks, fall candles, and watching Disney Halloween movies with my friends. I think my favorite part about doing all of these different fall things is that no matter where I’m going or what I’m doing, I’m always surrounded by the people that I love during this time of year.
