Everyone has nights where they had too much to drink. Everyone has had nights they have blacked out. Everyone has the morning after regrets questioning why they thought the things that they did the night before was a good idea. Everyone. As long as you are safe, do not let it get to you. This is college, more than half the time no one really notices what stupid things you did when you were too tipsy; and if they do remember, chances are they do not really care. It happens to all of us. So brush it off and move on with the rest of your day as if nothing happened!

It’s okay to stay in
If everyone else is going out, that does not mean that you have to go out too. Do not fall into peer pressure. I know, FOMO can be real, but for whatever reason you have for not going out, do not beat yourself up about it! You do not need to make up yourself a million excuses as to why you are not going out. There are so many weekends, it’s okay if you stay in for a few! Netflix in your warm bed is nicer than it sounds, well deserved and needed after stressful weeks with a large workload.
Do not let boys make you sad
Â
College boys should be their own species. Granted, there are good ones out their (snaps to you boys), but not every girl is lucky enough to stumble upon those ones. On weekends out, majority of the time a boy’s brain is down there and not in their head. Unlike most of us, boys are not on the lookout for a wife just yet. Half of them can’t even think past their first real job. Do not get sad when they don’t text you, or when it ended up being a one time thing, or when they are hitting on another girl at a party. Just don’t. Girls get so upset about boys because they expect way more than they should out of them. You should never let it get to you. There are way more important things to worry about in college than if the boy from last weekend is going to text you back. If they have not made the commitment to be with you, then do not make it a concern of yours to worry about. Your prince charming/ future husband will pop up when they are ready to and it will happen.

With bad things, come good things
When repeated negative things keep on happening, it can be hard to keep your head up. Our brain naturally notices negative outcomes more than any other outcomes. Even if you do not realize it, good things happen with any bad thing. I like to think of it as a balance theory. You need to had bad things happen in your life to balance with good things. That is why most people have an average life, no one has an entirely bad life and no one has an entirely good life. So when things are getting tough, remind yourself that something good is coming its way and you will realize that after it has arrived.
Â
Do not worry about things that you cannot control
If the situation is out of your hands, there really is nothing that you can do about it. There can always be concerns, but there is really no reason to get upset over it. As my good friends The Beatles would say, “let it be.”
Â
Do not forget the main reasons that you are in college
Â
Yes, college is about making friends. College involves going out on weekends and meeting new people. College is about growing up and learning how to behave on your own. What a lot of people do not remember until its time for applying for jobs is that they are mainly there for an education to get the career of their dreams. Even though studying is not nearly as enjoyable as hanging out with friends, those hours in the books will be worth it in the future.Â
