Spring Looks I’m Obsessed With

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNI chapter.

Finally! The cold, blistery weather is subsiding and the wintery snow is melting. The sun is starting to shine and the grass is turning green. Spring is just around the corner, and let’s be honest, it’s about time!

Ladies, it’s time to pack away the snow pants and break out the shorts. It’s time to rid ourselves of the sweatshirts and throw on a cardigan. It’s time to trade in the Uggs® for some awesome wedges.
Although we’d all love to get a new wardrobe in honor of the spring season, it’s not always financially possible for us students. How can we break into a new look without breaking the bank? Well, my friends, it’s all about the transition. All you need is to pair a few of your versatile items in your closet with some of this season’s hottest trends!

Trench Coat

Why I love it: A light weight trench coat adds a little bit of class to each outfit on those rainy or breezy spring days. Instead of going to class in your zip-up Northface® that doesn’t match your outfit at all, try a trench coat! Your best bet is to get tan or black because they are neutral colors that can go with pretty much anything you have in your closet.

How to wear it: A Jacket like this looks great over any anything! Try wearing it over a dress to create an outfit.

Wedges

Why I love it: Wedges are a great way to transition from winter to spring. Not only are they comfortable, but they come in such a variety of shapes and colors! They can dress your outfit up or down. Plus, for the girls who wish they could wear heels to class and not look weird, this is a good substitute. You can wear these to class, work, or when you go out at night. My favorite is a classic nude or white wedge. I’m all about the versatility!

How to wear it: Try wearing them with a pair of skinny jeans or straight legged jeans cropped up. Throw on a colorful and/or patterned shirt to make it a spring outfit.

Scarves

Why I love it: Who says you can only wear scarves in the winter time? Scarves are versatile all year ‘round! The lighter the fabric, the springy-er the look. I love it because scarves can be subtle or edgy depending on the look you’re going for. It completes the outfit all by itself.

How to wear it: Pair a bold scarf with a neutral outfit. It’s spunky but not too overbearing.

Slouchy Cropped Pant

Why I love it: Ahh, my new favorite item of the season: the slouchy cropped pant! This pant is awesome because it’s super comfortable and can be dressed up or down depending on your mood. It’s a daring fashion move to try these pants, but believe me, they’re worth the investment!

How to wear it: These pants are not low-riders so pull them up to the top of your hips. Let them be a little slouchy but not too baggy. You still want them to be figure flattering. Pair it with your favorite fitted tee tucked it or a loose top and accessorize however you wish! It’s a great spring outfit that looks great on everyone!
