5 Ways to De-Stress

Some students are still taking midterms and finals are quickly approaching; therefore, I know a lot of students on campus are stressed! Instead of having a mental breakdown take a minute and try to relieve some of that stress. Here are five of the best ways to relieve some stress!

1.     Meditation

 

 

Meditation is a great way to relieve stress. A perfect place to meditate on campus is in the gardens, but during the winter months inside the Nott is also a great spot!

2.     Yoga

Yoga incorporates meditation and breathing, therefore making it the perfect way to relieve stress. If you want to take an actual yoga class they are offered at the Alumni Gym and at The Hot Yoga Spot in Albany.

3.     Laugh

The physical act of laughing actually releases tension. Watch a funny show or hangout with friends to relieve some stress!

4.     Workout

 

Exercise lowers levels of depression, anxiety and stress. Working out doesn’t always have to be in the gym, a nice run outside is good exercise and a great change of scenery to clear your mind.

5.     Eat healthy

Eating a poor diet can cause more stress, so eat healthy! A healthy diet can create better physical and emotional wellness.
