Winter term has finally come to an end, however the success of the Men’s Hockey team at Union is nowhere near over. This week the team will travel to Philly to compete in the NCAA Men’s Frozen Four Championship. Their first game will be on Thursday, April 10th at 5pm against the #2 ranked team, Boston College. North Dakota and Minnesota face off on Thursday as the other two semifinal qualifiers. The winners of Thursday’s games will compete against each other on Saturday, April 12th at 7:30pm.
Star captain, Mat Bodie, has helped lead the team to Nationals with an overall record of 30-6-4. This will be the second time in just three short years that the Men’s Team has made it to the first round of the Frozen Four.

HC: What are your thoughts about the team playing in the Frozen Four?
Assistant Captain, Coke Ikkala: This is our second time to the Frozen Four, us seniors and juniors were there the last time so it’s up to us to use our experience and make sure the other two classes are ready. We have a really strong team this year but all four teams at the Frozen Four are good so we have to play our best hockey.
