Bathtub Dogs Singer Eric Bradley Fawl

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNL chapter.

We all know that group of 16 incredibly adorable, charming, funny, talented guys who make up UNL’s famous cappella group, the Bathtub Dogs. These amazing singers and natural entertainers are creating, preforming, recording, and producing hit songs that can even be found on iTunes! These cuties are seriously making the most out of their college experience here at UNL; whether goofing around on stage or astonishing audiences with their artistic interpretations of popular music, The Bathtub Dogs are pursuing their dreams and inspiring others to do the same.

Eric Bradley Fawl, a current sophomore at UNL, is one particularly cute member of the esteemed Bathtub Dogs. Eric is super friendly, outgoing, fun-loving, and probably the nicest guy you will ever meet; plus he can sing, has great style, and wants to be an English teacher!

Meet Eric Bradley Fawl.

What is your favorite song?

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Who is your favorite artist?

The Beatles

How did you get involved in music?

I have been singing since I can remember. The first time I specifically remember singing anything was “Amazing Grace” for my great grandmother’s funeral when I was four years old.

How have your musical interests evolved over time?

During my senior year of high school I started taking guitar lessons. After a while I was able to play and sing at the same time.  Then I started recording my own songs. At the time I really wanted to be a professional singer so I went to UNL for Vocal Performance. I loved the vocal lessons but it just wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So now I’m majoring in Secondary Education!

How did you get involved with the Bathtub Dogs?

They came to my school when I was a sophomore in high school.  Me and another current Bathtub Dog, Aaron Zart, skipped our weight-lifting class to see them perform.  We decided after seeing them that we wanted to be in the Bathtub Dogs.

What is it like being a part of the Bathtub Dogs at UNL?

It can be tough at times because it is a hefty commitment, but it is SO worth it once we get up on stage!

What is your favorite thing about being a part of the Bathtub dogs?

All the pathetically bad jokes we make during practices… seriously, they make no sense but that’s why they’re great.

Have you ever belonged to any other singing groups? What other kinds of performing experience have you had?

I was a part of the Lincoln East Express Show choir for three years and the Lincoln East Singers for two years. Also I was a part of the Lincoln Boys choir as a kid (but I totally hated it! shhh).

Have you ever had any issues with stage fright?

Not really at all! I love being up there.

What does it feel like for you when you perform in front of people?

It’s the best feeling in the world. I love it.

What role has music/singing played in your life?

Music has made me who I am today. It has given me the confidence that I could not find in any other thing.

Have you ever written any of your own music? Have you shared it with anyone?

Oh yeah! I share it with my close friends, mostly just my girlfriend because then she can tell me if it’s crappy.

How has being a part of the Bathtub Dogs at UNL affected your college experience?

It has given me 16 close friends who understand a part of my life that nobody else can

How has your Bathtub Dogs involvement affected your life overall?

It has given me such joy and pleasure. I love it! I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything.

What do you want to do with your life after college?

I would love to win American Idol and be famous! Okay but really… I just want to teach English.
