Below are some key things/ideas that will make your Friendsgiving so extra you would have thought Martha Stewart herself planned it.The Attire

Every good event has a theme: fashion shows, dances, The Met Gala, so, your Friendsgiving has to have one too. The theme could be as simple as everyone matching wearing blue jeans, or everyone show up dressed like Ariana Grande. At the very least, there should be a dress code for the party. Everyone should dress nice, I’m not saying everyone has to wear a dress and heels or anything, but make it clear that anyone in sweatpants does not make it through the front door.

The Invites

A Friendsgiving is a very intimate thing, and not a lot of people fully realize that it is celebrating the family you actually chose, that is why the guest list is very important. Everyone should know everyone, everyone should be not only friends, but close friends. The right guest list will guarantee that there will not be a moment of silence from the beginning of the dinner to the very end. If there is a guy on the invite list he better be outgoing, he also better not be the only guy, make sure that if there is one guy coming that there are at least two more. The Food

Nothing is official unless there is a GroupMe for it. Make sure there is a group chat with everyone that is coming, and from there discuss who is bringing what, and more importantly, who is allergic to what. Also, do not forget to make the necessary adjustments if someone is a vegetarian or vegan. Everyone should cook something, like an old family recipe. It’s a good conversation starter, plus, I’m sure there’ll be a story in there somewhere.

Alcohol – Make Sure There Is Plenty!!

Having alcohol present is essential for not just a Friendsgiving, but the holidays in general, whether its wine, rosé, or some type of special holiday-tini. (For recipes and ideas use Pinterest). The Activities

To conclude a perfect Friendsgiving, have at least two activities. It could be anything from board games, to white elephant gifts, to a movie. My personal favorite is the Thanksgiving version of a Secret Santa. Step #1: put everybody’s name in a hat a few days before the party. Step 2: everyone selects a name from the hat and buys that person a gift. As a group everyone should agree on a set price, I recommend 10 dollars and since black Friday is right around the corner, you might want to play it safe with a gift card. This is not real Secret Santa where gift cards are not allowed. Following the first activity I feel as though the second activity should be a little more of a wind-down activity, like a movie. If there are guys in attendance, I recommend either a comedy, action, or a feel-good movie like Rush Hour, Fast and the Furious, or Remember the Titans. However, if it’s just girls, I recommend romantic movies like a Nicolas Sparks movie or To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, or if everyone is a little tipsy, something you could sing along to would be fun like a Disney movie or a musical like Mamma Mia.

Just call her the next black Anna Wintour. Don Davis is in her third year at the University of North Texas. She is currently pursuing two degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She is also pursuing two minors, one in Marketing and the other in Photography, with the hopes of one day becoming a print and digital reporter, more specifically, a fashion writer, and then getting promoted to fashion editor. However, her ultimate goal is editor-in-chief.

And yes, her name is like the country, but spelled differently.
