When it comes to fighting for our right as humans, we must test our patience and take all the necessary measures to pursue what we are legitimately striving for.  Our beliefs and our argumentative reflexes will shape a future that accounts for equal pay in the workplace, balancing our education system, diminish violence against ourselves, and many other ambitions that we wish to implement from here on.  Within decisions to be made to better our safety, communities, policies, governments, and other views, it is fundamental for a woman to step in and grant her stamp of approval.

The UN Women held the 20th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women in September 27, 2015, along with the exposition of Step It Up and our global leader’s Commitment to Action in their nations.

Step it Up is a program where it’s purpose is to take measures of ethical changes towards complete gender equality by the year 2030.

Some of the development goals include:

·       Asking world leaders to make national commitments that address the challenges that are holding women and girls back from reaching their full potential. (Which so far, 88 countries have committed to stepping it up!)

·       Developing programs to defeat domestic violence of women and girls around the world.

·       Promoting public educational rights for girls.

The agreement of our world leaders into pursuing these changes will benefit and provoke more positive outcomes for society. This affects us through the commitment and goals that our current president is determined to fulfill for our nation.  Click here for Obama’s full statement and other world leaders

Most people have mistaken this battle as a women’s rights issue.  But it’s actually constructed more as a human right’s issue that aims towards the problems that affect us as a whole if those changes continue to be put aside.  It should concern us all to be informed with the knowledge, where many countries still suppress their opposite gender because of their reigning superiority that has already been established centuries ago. The main goal for all organizations such as Step it Up is to influence others regarding the capability of women in welfare and decisions that recline on the very base of their country’s well-being.

During the month of October there will be platforms that will discuss the bottom-line issues of peacekeeping and inhibition of conflicts worldwide that are in need of more women involvement, which is a major struggle we face today.

We must not suggest or impose for other women to become more entangled if we are not in it together as a whole. It is crucial for us to have a greater involvement on this issue that revolves around us, especially when it’s happening worldwide.  For this to take place globally, it would only mean so much; permitting us to glance at a bigger spectrum of the achievement of world peace. It is frightening to admit that most of us collegiettes are unaware that this event took place recently for the mere rationalization for human rights, women empowerment, and equalization of the genders concerning us all.
