Over the past year and a half, reading has become a part of my personality, and I’ve read some of the best books. Most of them are part of a series and end in heartbreaking cliffhangers, so I’ve had to keep track of when their sequels or final books are coming out.
Here are the book releases I’m most excited for coming out in what’s left of 2023:
A Curse for True Love by Stephanie Garber
Retrieved from Goodreads
If you love fairy tales, why haven’t you read the Once Upon a Broken Heart series? This October it will come to an end with its third book, A Curse for True Love. I’m not going to lie, even though I’m nervous, I’m also excited for this one. Have you heard that there are different editions of this book, each with a different ending!? How amazing is that!

Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros

Everyone and their mother has probably read Fourth Wing this past summer. Whether you understood the hype, or not, with that ending, we need to know what happens next! I already preordered my copy of its sequel, Iron Flame, I don’t want to have to wait for a restock. You still have time to preorder yours!
Release date: November 7, 2023
Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross
Retrieved from Goodreads
This has been the year of amazing cliffhangers, and beautiful, addictive writing! Divine Rivals is one of the most beautiful books I’ve read this year and of course it ended in a cliffhanger. So I just need to know what’s going to happen with Iris and Roman in Ruthless Vows! Also, given its release date, it’s the perfect Christmas gift!
Release date: December 26, 2023
Hopeless by Elsie Silver

The Chestnut Springs companion series will be completed with this last addition to the family. I do enjoy indulging myself in a romance every once in a while and the Chestnut Spring series has been a fan favorite this year! Every single book hits differently and I can’t wait for Beau’s story.

Sword Catcher by Cassandra Clare

I don’t know about you, but I am a wholehearted Shadowhunters fan. I believe this is the first time I’ll read a Cassandra Clare book that isn’t set in the Shadowhunter Chronicles world! And yes, I’m incredibly excited to see what she has come up with. By the time you’re reading this, it’ll probably already be out, so snatch a copy and let me know what you think! PS. I am OBSESSED with that cover.
Release date: October 10, 2023
Heartstopper Volume 5 by Alice Oseman
Retrieved from Goodreads
Our favorite couple, Nick and Charlie, are coming back for another volume this December! Their story has been one of the most beautiful ones I’ve read in a while, and yes, graphic novels count as reading! I am looking forward to diving deeper into Charlie’s mental health and seeing how he copes with everything that happened in the past volume. And because I believe Nick will be in his last year of high school, he’s dealing with college applications. You still have time to catch up on the first four Heartstopper volumes, they are such quick reads!
Release date: December 19, 2023
Never by Jessa Hastings
Retrieved from Goodreads
Even without finishing the Magnolia Parks Universe, I can already tell how much I love and will keep on loving Jessa Hastings’ writing. Her newest book, Never, will be a Peter Pan retelling, and to read her in the fantasy genre? Yes please! This author makes me fall in love with London so breathlessly, that I cannot wait to see what she does here!
Release date: December 5, 2023 according to Amazon.
Honorary Mention: House Of Flame and Shadow by Sarah J. Mass.
Retrieved from Goodreads
I’ve needed this book in my hands since I read the ending of the previous book, House of Sky and Breath, last winter! THIS is my Roman Empire. Don’t worry I won’t spoil anything, but if you want to get into the Crescent City series, you’re right on time! Its release date is tattooed in my brain so that I don’t forget to avoid spoilers once January 30 hits. I’m not the fastest fantasy reader and I want to soak this one up as it could be the last book of the series.
Release date: January 30th, 2024
