How To Revive Your 2022 Goals For The Second Quarter!

The opinions expressed in this article are the writer’s own and do not reflect the views of Her Campus.
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UPR chapter.

I know I’m not the only one that has fallen off-track with my goals during previous years. Putting things off doesn’t feel too good, if I’m being honest. If you’re a consistent procrastinator, chances are you’ll eventually start to doubt yourself, feel like a failure, and stop feeling motivated to work on yourself and your goals as the year progresses.

Well, fear not! I am here to help you revive your 2022 goals so that you can have your best year yet; and yes, there’s still plenty of time for that!

Let’s go, shall we?

Revise

Grab whatever medium you used to write your 2022 goals and ask yourself these questions: What have I done to achieve these goals in the first quarter of 2022? Do these goals still resonate with me and the life I want to create for myself? Don’t be afraid to scratch off some of the goals you wrote at the beginning of the year. People are allowed to change their minds.

What Do You Want?

What do you actually want to achieve this year? Put aside what is expected of you externally and think what would truly bring you joy. You’re allowed to choose whatever you wish to achieve this year. It’s time you let go of what people will think of your goals, because at this point, we can’t rely on that to provide us with the life we want.

Vision Board Revamp

This is probably one of my favorite parts. I did a vision board at the beginning of the year, but after revising it later on, it didn’t resonate with me anymore. It was too vague for the specific and concrete goals  I really wanted to achieve. You can make as many vision boards as you want throughout the year, and I’ll probably make one for every quarter. Here’s a tip that I’m going to be implementing from now on: I have the goal to recreate and replace all the pictures I’ve added to my vision board. Why? It’s like my little proof that every goal that I visualized in my board was achieved! For me, it’s more realistic than setting a timeframe. I use Canva for this step, since it makes it easier for me to create and edit it as I go.

What’s The Vibe for 2022?

Scratch what I said earlier, this one is my favorite. Grab a notebook or a Notion page or your favorite way to take notes and ask yourself: What’s the vibe for 2022? You’re most likely going to word-vomit  everything that comes to mind when thinking about how you want to feel in 2022. Everything that slowly but surely propels you towards the vibe you want to feel. I did this for both my internal and external vibes because, for me, they’re completely different things. Keep in mind that I’ve only added things that feel “sparkly” to me. What do I mean by that? I’ve added things that make me feel  positive, i.e. grateful, happy, excited, loved, etc. This way, you have some easy keywords to look back on that align you with who you want to be in 2022. It’s completely up to you what you want to add, but here’s mine for reference (please don’t judge) :

Calendar Time

Instead of an actual calendar, I use a note-taking system with Notion. I literally jot down all the months in the year and a few to-do’s that will help me take a step further into achieving my goals. Think of it like a monthly to-do list in one place. I also add events and any big investments that I’ll be making that month on the list. This way you’ll get an idea as to what you should be working one each month in your quarter. Obviously, I don’t write every single thing at the beginning of the year, since my November and December to-do lists are completely empty, and in October I only wrote down the trip I want to go on. Make it as flexible and as functional as you need it to be.

That’s it! You are now officially on your way to reviving your goals for 2022! I wish you the best and the greatest vibes for this year, and I’m rooting for you because, in case no one has told you yet, I believe that you’re capable of achieving every single one of your goals, just as long as you work for them.

Lots of love,
