HCUPR: How would you describe yourself in three words?
Claudia: Optimistic, Sociable, and Outgoing
HCUPR: Claudia, what motivated you to join Her Campus UPR?
Claudia: I love writing. It’s my favorite hobby! When I was 9, I found some of my older sister’s diaries and I read them all the time. She would write poems in her diary and I instantly fell in love with poetry. When I entered high school, I developed that art and began writing other things as well. My favorite part about English class was creative writing. I have always loved it, and I feel like I express myself better that way. Being part of Her Campus UPR was a dream come true!
HCUPR: That’s great! When did you join Her Campus UPR?
Claudia: I joined mid-October.
HCUPR: What is your favorite thing of being in Her Campus UPR?
Claudia: THE PEOPLE! I was a bit scared the first time I met with the group because I was joining so late in the semester, I was a little freaked out that they wouldn’t let me join or that I would be looked upon like I was infiltrating their secret club. I wanted to make Her Campus UPR a part of my college life, so it was important to me that they like me. I’ve always been a sociable person, so when they added me to the group chat on WhatsApp I began to comment on random things and out of nowhere they began answering back like I was already one of them. I loved the group immediately and I feel like their daily conversations are part of my routine. If I don’t talk to them, I miss them.
HCUPR: That is so sweet! How would you describe yourself?
Claudia: RANDOM. I am a very positive person. I love seeing the good side in life and it’s rare to see me sad. I love life, simple as that. I am a very friendly person and I love talking with people. I’m the type of person who refuses to let her inner child go, but I know when to let her out.
HCUPR: Do you have a hidden talent?
Claudia: I sing and dance. I wanted to be a singer until tenth grade, when I decided I wanted to be a lawyer and politician. I could say singing is my hidden, but failed dream.
HCUPR: Where do you see yourself in the future?
Claudia: I see myself running for a position in the government. I dream of making a change in Puerto Rico, and I want to try and do that from inside the government.
HCUPR: In what organizations are you involved on Campus?
Claudia: Aside from Her Campus UPR, I’m also in MONU (Model United Nations) and I’m trying to join the Estudiantes Orientadores for next year.
HCUPR: What have you learned so far at La Iupi?
Claudia: Patience and how to be sure of myself. I have always had a good self-esteem, but I have learned not to keep my opinions to myself here. I also learned patience thanks to PuttyTel. Thank you, pre-matrícula. It’s so horrible.
