This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UPR chapter.
Let’s face it: The grand majority of the people that attend the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus are from the faculty of Natural Sciences. A faculty that, like many, has their own little habits. I guess you could say that we are the UPR’s favorite little “zombies” (though Architecture students come in for a close second place!). Hopefully, if you’re a fellow Naturales student, you’ll totally be able to relate to the following…
- The word “departamental” is as scary as “el Cuco” when you were little.
- Organic Chemistry IS your worst enemy.
- You probably know who Estela Pagán and Isadore Brodsky are. And if you didn’t know this, they’re married.
- This one is for Chemistry majors: You know who “Mami Ingrid” is.
- You can’t remember the last time you slept more than 5 hours.
- Calculus is the main reason why you hate math (if you’re not a math major).
- Energy drinks and concentration pills are your best friends.
- You probably slept in the library to blow off some steam.
- You find yourself talking about the MCAT nonstop.
- Naturales is the main reason why you’re single.
- Chemists and biologists have a constant battle of who is the best.
- It’s a Friday night. And guess what? You’re stuck on campus until 7:30pm to take an exam.
- You can’t remember the last time you went out without thinking that you had stuff to do.
- You hate looking for the MSDS for the labs.
- You most likely know who Yando, “el caco de naturales“, is. (I mean, who doesn’t?)
- You despise the fact of having the notebook done for the lab.
And lastly,
- You wouldn’t have it any other way doing this all over again.
