HCUPR: How would you describe yourself in three words?

Bianca: Unique, creative and honest

Anya: Confident, dedicated and positive.

HCUPR: Do you guys have any talents, hobbies, or interests that people would never expect you to have? What do you like about it?

Bianca: Cosmetology, I would love to do it as a full time job. I like Cosmetology because it accentuates the beauty in women. Women need to know they are beautiful every day and so many of them don’t realize it until they see it accentuated with make-up. It’s important to look beautiful within and express it.

Anya: Pole dancing. I like that it gives me confidence and it makes me feel strong.  There is a big misconception about pole dancing. It’s a performance art that makes a woman grow. It’s funny because I have taught older women who are there to work on their self confidence. This focus on their sex appeal comes from them. It’s something that women do for themselves, not for a man.

HCUPR:Where do you see yourselves in the future?

Bianca: I see myself managing my own business in Cosmetology and traveling the world.

Anya: I see myself as a forensic pathologist.

HCUPR:What have you learned from each other?

Bianca: She’s taught me that it’s important to put limits in my life, especially with people. Anya has a stronger personality than me and she is really determined. She makes her goals happen and that has taught me that I should never give up what I want.

Anya: To have the courage to do things without worrying too much and having initiative. Bianca takes risks in life without overanalizing and this can be really productive and have a great outcome.

HCUPR: Anya, what do you look for in a partner?

Anya: I’m not the romantic type, but I’m drawn to good personalities and people who are supportive of all the aspects of my studies. My relationship also shouldn’t affect my career.

HCUPR: As freshmen, what do you think of la IUPI?

Bianca: It’s a place where you can enlarge your knowledge in an incredible way. It’s a different experience, it can be challenging and it gives a different perspective in life. I have learned that I don’t have to stay in the same field, that I can be in multiple disciplines for my multiple interests. I have met incredible people, from friends to professors, although some are really different.

Anya: Its been pretty cool. I feel like I am in the Mecca, that if I leave the Univertsity of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras,  I won’t be able to achieve all the great things that I want to do. This is the place to be.
