It’s been a while since the independent Puerto Rican band Los Petardos! delivered a music video. Thus, after the recent release of their latest album La Potoroca, and going on a tour to Mexico, the band finally released the video for their song “El Espejo”, which chronicles their adventures in the North American country while keeping up with the spirit of the track.

Keeping up with the spirit of most of Los Petardos’! discography, “El Espejo” is a fun surf-rock tune that will make anyone dance and shake their hips. Thereby, the song demanded a fun music video to accompany it. If one has paid attention to previous visuals released by the west-coast Puerto Rican band, one can tell that they often have fun in the production, and the video to “El Espejo” is clear evidence of this.

The latest visual production by Los Petardos! features the group performing in a variety of stages across Mexico as part of their most recent tour. The video also provides a brief glimpse of the many adventures the band had as they explored the country. Furthermore, by overlaying some videos over others, it gives the film a bit of a psychedelic aesthetic, which makes it an even more cheerful presentation. However, all of this does not make the video very original when compared to other videos by the band, especially the one released to the album’s title track. Nevertheless, this shouldn’t kill the positive energy being spread by the music and visuals in “El Espejo.”

The latest video by independent Boricua surf-rock band Los Petardos! is a fun presentation which chronicles their adventures on their recent tour through Mexico. However, while the video is energetic and visually pleasing, it doesn’t make it as original as previous visuals from the band. Nonetheless, the song and images presented are enough to get spectators moving their feet and banging their heads.
