Beauty, a value, a truth, and sometimes, a question. To some, beauty is the sparkle in romances’ eyes; to others, it can be a smiling crease slowly edging in the corner of their eyes. It’s a memory, a moment, it’s in math, it’s in life, but in every story, its starts with the stories that kiss our bodies, and the canvas that becomes it. Growing up, I was quite the pizza face, pepperoni pimples frosting my face like tiny villains conquering my face and my self-esteem. Nowadays, I’ve armed myself with some Google research, and next level encyclopedic knowledge from some of the top beauty gurus in the skincare industry.
At times, the pursuit of knowledge can be daunting, quite so when it comes to the dark sticky mess that we call our face after a humid afternoon walking around campus. So today we go to the basic foundation of any skin care routine, from traditional America, to the fresh faced glowing complexions strolling around Paris, if there’s one universal step, it’s cleansing.
1)L’Oreal Youth Code stands first on our list of cleansers, as a budget powerhouse. With ingredients like salicylic and citric acid, this this foaming gel gently exfoliates while removing make-up and impurities with a subtle floral scent. This products works well with most skin types especially oily and combination, however, those with sensitivities to fragrance or acids should steer clear.
2) Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser by Lorache Posay is currently on the top corner of my bathroom shelf, its clean, its simple, and formulated by Parisian dermatologist under strict laws that ban quite a few potentially irritating skin care ingredients, as such, Parisian products stand stall as beauty executive favorites and runway must haves. This glycerin (an effective moisturizer) infused cleansing milk is as soothing as it is a superb make up remover. Its aimed at those with dry or intolerant skin.
3)Those with acne prone skin might look to Vichy’s Norma Derm Deep Cleansing Gel. Yet another Parisian, brand with remarkable quality products. This products swims into the skin with 3 medical grade ingredients well known for their acne fighting attributes, Salicylic Acid, Totarol, and Eperuline. These 3 products work in synergy to remove impurities while calming any irritation.
Most L’oreal products can be found in your local Walgreens, for Vichy and Laroche Posay, you’ll have to go to the Walgreens right in front of Mayaguez Mall, or if your in the San Juan Area, Condado. Hope these little tidbits encourage you to take a moment for the health of your skin. Stay tuned for our next article.
