TeatRUM Does It Again With “Super Prepa Bros”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UPRM chapter.

Have you ever been so pleasantly surprised by a stage show that you kind of want to watch it again? That’s the feeling I got watching this year’s Show de Prepas: Super Prepa Bros. As the title implies, the theme was all about video game culture (and yes, there are jokes for all you Pokemon GO fans out there) and the struggles of being a prepa here at Colegio. From the moment the show begins, the audience gets to name the main character/player, and you are instantly taken back to that feeling of being in a strange new place. The characters are based on the typical colegiales: the “bro” roommate, the pretty older girl, the guy that has been here for an eternity, and all of these are parodied brilliantly. They also take jabs at the english kids, the biology students, and all types of other majors.

TeatRUM veteran and HCUPRM’s own Jennifer Mojica played Ash Ketchup on the show!

The most important thing about a show like this is how much it provokes the audience to laugh and make them reminisce about their first days in Colegio, and this show pulls that off quite nicely. It certainly brought me back to the days of not knowing what I was doing, and how strange it was to finally be a part of Colegio. It also showcases the growth you experience here in the best ways possible. The acting was very good and the chemistry between the cast was just right. No spoilers–but be sure to stick around until the end for a very cool surprise!

“Super Prepa Bros” was held at the Figueroa Chapel Amphitheater last Thursday, and it will be shown again on the evening of August 17th, so go check it out if you couldn’t catch the first showing.
