March 25, 2017 marked the day the activity of Engineering Fun Day took place in Colegio.  It was an activity organized by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) for high school students. The students were divided in teams of approximately six students per group, and the day consisted of different workshops of the different types of engineering offered in the academic program at our university. At the end of the day, after completing all the workshops, the team that had the most points was the winner.

Along with the high school students, there was also a panel for the parents with the Dean of Academic Affairs and the Dean of the Engineering Faculty. The panel consisted of the parents asking questions regarding the engineering field, the way it works, the jobs for each field, and more. The panel was rather fruitful, because everyone asked questions. It was a really active dynamic.

During the parents’ panels, the students were taken into the Stefani building to be part of the workshops each engineering field had prepared. There were workshops on Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Civil, Computer, and Mechanical Engineering fields.

At the end of the workshops, the students were brought back to the amphitheater for the awards to the best teams and the certificate ceremony. And, of course, none of this would have been possible without the amazing team that organized it.
