6 Reasons We Love URI The Most

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at URI chapter.

Each of us chose URI for a reason. We may be the smallest state on the map, but we “think big”. Whatever your reason may be, we can all agree that URI is the place to be.  Rhody will always be apart of you. What makes it better than the other 629 public 4-year universities in the US?

1.     Where else do the majority of the students live in gorgeous beach houses surrounded by friends?

Living “Down the Line” is one of the best parts about being a Rhody Ram.  Sure, the commute isn’t the best, but you can’t beat seeing the ocean from your back deck.

2.     You know when you run into someone who went to URI, and you end up listening while they reminisce so you can confirm that traditions have stayed the same?

Yeah, I’ve witnessed this and it’s awesome. Yes, Bonvue is still a thing, and Chuck’s, too. And yes, Eastward is where we call home.

3.     We take the best sunset pictures.

Don’t believe us? Reference any of our instagrams.

4.     Everything is approximately 13 minutes from everything else.

That’s the good thing about living in the smallest state by square mile.

5.     THE BEACH. Honestly, I should have made this number one.

They don’t call it the Ocean State for nothin’.

6.     Our beautiful campus.

Best Value Schools named URI the third most beautiful coastal college campus, and we agree.
