Types of People Based on Their Ice Cream Order

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at URI chapter.

The way someone orders their ice cream can tell you a lot about them. It can be from the flavor they order, the toppings that they choose to the terms that they use. This shows the server exactly what type of person they are.

The Basic One

This is the person that always chooses vanilla, chocolate, coffee or strawberry as their base ice cream. Some get it straight up while others may venture out and get a sundae (but of course with a simple flavored ice cream). These types of people tend to stick to the basics of either a regular sugar cone or a cup.

The Classis One

Maple walnut, rum raisin, butter pecan, grapenut, frozen pudding and pistachio are this type of person’s favorite flavor. These flavors are mainly ordered by older people, however, those under the age of 70 argue that they are “classic” ice cream flavors. Says who?

The New Englander

You can tell when someone is from New England when they use the term jimmies to order chocolate sprinkles on their ice cream. They just know how to properly order ice cream in a way that everyone knows in New England.

The Venturous One

This is the person who is willing to try any and all flavors. This person will confidently ask for two different flavors in a two scoop cup. This person tends to drift towards the specialty flavors such as peanut butter pie, chunky monkey and fly fishing fudge (aka candy bar overload). Bottom line, these people would not get along with the basic ones.

The Healthy One

These people will ALWAYS order flavors that have less sugar. These flavors include any frozen yogurts (black raspberry chip or coffee Heath Bar), flavors that have no sugar added (vanilla and coffee) or sherbet. This person may occasionally order some type of topping but usually sticks to ordering their ice cream in a cup with a cover to go.

The Sweet Tooth One

This person orders their ice cream with extra toppings and tends to choose an extra sweet flavor. An example would be chocolate peanut butter ice cream with extra hot fudge and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. This person indulges when they get ice cream and always gives it their all to finish the ice cream before leaving.

As you can tell, the way a person may order their ice cream along with the flavor that they choose, speaks volumes. So what type of person are you?
