Let’s face it…studying is plain old boring, but even worse is studying in the same spot every.single.time. We URI students are in luck though, because there are so many great study spots on and off campus to go if you need some new scenery. As the weather gets warmer, go ahead and make the trek to somewhere new; it may be your new favorite place.

The URI Carothers Library
Â
To play it safe, everyone heads to the library to get some work done. Â My favorite spot in the lib is either downstairs sitting all the way in the isolation cubbies, or on the second floor near the windows overlooking Rodman. Â Make sure you claim a spot near an outlet if you plan to stay there a while, they are limited.
Â
Second Floor CBLS
Â
There’s little nooks on the second floor and it’s a nice quiet study place. The couches are super comfy to just relax and study, or to even just chill. There is even a Dunkin’ Donuts on the ground floor…you get to make your own coffee! So before you head to your favorite spot in CBLS, grab a cup of coffee and then put your head in those books!
Â
Rhody Market
Â
This is definitely one of my favorite spots on campus because I can people watch out the clear glass windows. Rhody Market also makes for a really great study spot because what’s better than kicking your feet up by the fire? Do some homework, and oh, you might as well have a delicious cookie from Starbucks. Â
Â
Bay Campus Library
Â
Did you know URI has a campus in the Bonnet Shores area? Just like the Kingston campus, they too, have a great library. It’s open to all URI students, so if you want to adventure, take a trip to the Bay Campus library. Don’t worry about the stereotypical mean librarian, the woman at the front desk is super nice. Get there early though, they inconveniently close at 5:00 everyday.
Â
Hillside Hall
Were all not lucky enough to live in Hillside, but doesn’t mean we can’t go there, right? For those of you who do not know, Hillside has the best study lounges. There’s one at the end of each hall, and another in the middle.
