Journalism Student: Jordan Cullen

This week we caught up with graduating Journalism student Jordan Cullen whose love of photography turned into something more than just a hobby!

Her Campus USC AU: What bought you to USC?
 
Jordan: I was accepted into Applied Science at UQ Gatton, and hoped to eventually study Vet Science but last minute thought “bugger that” I’d rather do journalism!”
 
HC: What’s your favourite colour?
 
Jordan: Orange
 
HC: What’s your favourite TV show?
 
Jordan: How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men.
 
HC: What’s your favourite place to travel?
 
Jordan: I travelled to Bali in 2009 and am going to Vietnam for four weeks in Jan-Feb next year where I’ll be taking pictures for my book Vietnam: A Photographic Journey
 
HC: What’s your favourite thing about USC?
 
Jordan: The people I’ve studied with over the last three years are truly amazing and the small size of the Uni means a more personal experience which is a plus.
 
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself…
 
Jordan: My hobby (photography) turned into a paid job as a press photographer, I did not see that coming!
Jasmin Maastricht is a third year Journalism student at USC, the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Her Campus chapter at USC, as well as being one of the 2013 USC Student Mentor's, freelancing for online publication WeekendNotes and interning for Australia's number one online fashion store, Fashionfile. Her passion is Journalism but besides that, Jasmin has always had a strong interest in fashion and entertainment, completing six weeks of work experience with Noosa 101.3fm Community Radio Station and has had the amazing opportunity of working with Australia's number one teenage lifestyle magazines, DOLLY in April 2011 and again in April 2013 and Girlfriend in February, 2013. She has also scored herself internships with the Sunshine Coast's local newspaper, the Sunshine Coast Daily and with Caboolture News. She has been working with both papers eight months now. She has previously worked with Darby Radcliff with the Her Campus Ole Miss chapter while on exchange in Mississippi as well as working with the M s Observer magazine and has never looked back.
