For those who missed out on the chic event co-hosted by USC’s Fashion Industry Association and Ann Taylor on Nov. 14, don’t fret because I have all of the information right here! Well, actually, fret a little because the those with a sweet tooth were satisfied by red velvet cupcakes from Crumbs and sparkling apple cider, but moving on…
The event consisted of a Q&A for those wondering about what other career paths are available in the fashion industry. And believe me, there’s a lot more to it than just being a fashion designer! The Ann Taylor team and FIA addressed this with the variety of professions, most of which are listed below:
- Journalism
- Visual Communication Coordinator
- Modeling
- Public Relations
- Marketing/Advertising
- Buying
- Photography
- Management
- Styling
- Accounting
The options were versatile for those who majored in other fields such as Communication and Business. Sort of comparable to being able to wrap a scarf in many different ways.
The Fashion Industry Networking Mixer that will be held on the 5th of December was also discussed at the event and details can be viewed on Facebook here.
Attendees also had the chance to view Ann Taylor’s Winter and Holiday collection that showed the versatility and style of the “new” Ann. The collection is geared towards young women transitioning from school to a careers. Prizes such as Ann Taylor jewelry, tote bags, and $50 gift cards were also raffled off.
Last, but not least, Ann Taylor will be having an in-store event on the 5th of December from 7-9pm at their Manhattan Beach location. There will be special discounts, raffling prizes and fashion activities. More details will be posted on this event at a later time, so check back for more information! But in the mean time, don’t forget to mark your calendars, fashionistas!
