I’ve been using Glossier’s Body Hero duo since it was released in September, and I’m hooked. It’s more like a Body Hero trio now: The Daily Oil Wash, the Daily Perfecting Cream, and me. Here’s a few reasons why this might be your new favorite shower routine, too:
1. The smell: Glossier calls it an “orange blossom neroli blend,” but I like to think of it as “the best my bathroom and I have ever smelled.” It’s a similar scent to baby powder, but softer and a little more citrusy. I love the way I smell all day when I wear it!
2. It actually does what it claims to do: My skin feels so soft after I use Body Hero. The Daily Perfecting Cream has light-reflecting particles to make the rest of you as dewey as your other Glossier products make your face. And even in Florida, it’s about to get cooler—it’ll be nice to have a cream and a body wash to keep my skin moisturized.
3. The advertising campaign: Body Hero launched with inclusive advertisements featuring totally nude women. The campaign was a hit, with positive media coverage and social media reactions.
4. The price: Body Hero retails for $35, which means you save $5 when you buy the duo as a set (individually, the Daily Oil Wash is $18 and the Daily Perfecting Cream is $22). Even on a college budget, $35 is a nice way to treat yourself with a quality product that’ll do good for your skin.
5. It’s good for you and the planet: Glossier.com says Body Hero is “hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, gynecologist tested, soap free, paraben free, cruelty free, vegan.” What more could you want from a body wash? Hypoallergenic means you won’t have a reaction to Body Hero; dermatologist and gynecologist tested means it’s safe for all of you; soap free means it won’t dry your skin; paraben free means it doesn’t contain chemicals that might harm you long-term; and cruelty free and vegan means no animals were harmed in the making of this product.
So, what’s stopping you from becoming the next orange blossom neroli princess?
