If you’re a Tampa resident and looking for some fun activities to do in and near the Tampa area, then this list is for you!!
Bowlero University: 13109 N 56th St, Tampa, FL 33617
Bowlero University is a bowling area right near USF with an arcade and a menu full of food and drink options. On Mondays and Thursdays, Bowlero holds a special called “Night Strike” where you and your friends can enjoy unlimited bowling from 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. for $15.94 per person (shoe rental is included). This is such a fun and inexpensive way to spend a weeknight to take your mind off of reality for a couple hours in such an exciting atmosphere.
Breakout Games: 2830 E Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33613
Breakout Games holds five escape rooms (The Kidnapping, Alleyway Vigilantes, Dreamweaver, Jungle Gem, and Research) where you can reserve a private room with six other friends or family members. You have 60 minutes to escape whichever room you choose through the use of clues that you find along the way. Each room provides a completely different experience that gives you and your group the opportunity to come out victorious.
AMC Highwoods 20: 18002 Highwoods Preserve Pkwy, Tampa, FL 33647
AMC Highwoods 20 is a movie theater and I know this one may sound pretty basic, but this movie theater is top tier. When you arrive at the theater, you’re met with a 1950s diner-vibe as there are vintage cars right above the doors and the entrance is full of bright neon lights. For certain movies, AMC offers 30% off on matinees and if you bring your student ID, you can get a student discount on your tickets. There is also an incredible restaurant called Sushi Cafe right near the theater, so if you go see an early movie, you can grab some really delicious dinner right after.
Silver Springs State Park: 5656 E Silver Springs Blvd, Silver Springs, FL 34488
Silver Springs is a bit farther away than the other activity locations, but it is seriously worth the drive. One of the many adventures you could participate in at this state park is kayaking down the Silver River. You can either rent a kayak when you arrive or bring your own. If you decide to rent, you can either rent a single or tandem kayak. The state park entry fee is $2, and the rental prices vary depending on which kayak you rent and for how long you want to be out on the river. If you go with some friends and rent tandem kayaks, you can save some extra money. While kayaking down the river, you can see manatees, turtles, alligators, birds, and even monkeys, making this such an amazing experience to share with others or simply enjoy by yourself.
