It only takes one conversation with this man to see that he possesses quite the unique combination of charm and genuineness. One conversation and it feels like you’ve feel like you’ve known him forever. One conversation and you’ll find yourself spilling your guts to his understanding ear.
For this reason it is obvious that senior health sciences student Brandon Breedwell will easily achieve his ultimate career goal of becoming a relationship and family counselor.
The Apopka, Fla. native hopes to break into the field in December when he graduates. Until then, you can often find him making your food at the local Jason’s Deli restaurant.
Brandon’s USF experience has been an exciting one.
“I would like to say I’ve made a lasting impact on the history of USF,” he says.
In Spring 2011, Brandon, along with four other students, helped bring the popular tag-like game “Humans Versus Zombies” to USF. Over 700 USF students participate in the game every semester. He acted as president for the organization’s inaugural year and now, after over two years of coordinating the game, he acts as a support for the current officers.
In addition to his groundbreaking work for “Humans Versus Zombies,” in 2011 Brandon was part of the Residence Hall Association. He had a hand in ratifying its constitution and in voting for the changes to the recent dining changes at Marshall Student Center.
When he’s not at school or working, you can find him immersing himself in the world of sports.
“Honestly when I’m not in school I’m usually at work. And when I’m not at work, I’m at sporting events or spending time with friends. I enjoy sports and spend a lot of time reading up on my favorite teams and sports,” he says.
He also enjoys winding down from his busy days by zipping around the city in his 2002 Honda Civic.
Although Brandon spent the first 18 years of his life in Orlando, he says that Tampa is where his heart is.
“I lived near Orlando for 18 years and I never felt as welcome as I have since I moved to Tampa for USF,” he says.
He is incredibly grateful for the friends he’s made during his stay at USF and has the intentions of making more during his last semester. If you ever happen to run into Brandon around campus, do yourself a favor and start up a conversation with this caring soul. You’ll be glad you did.
