With the United Kingdom’s HerUni.com coming over to Her Campus, why not dedicate an article to the artists that have come and dominated American music charts. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and the Spice Girls, only a few of the many, were the originals who took over the American charts, and now a new generation of British artists has arrived.
1. Adele
Starting up the list is Adele with popular songs “Someone Like You,” “Rolling in the Deep,” “Set Fire to the Rain” and many more. With multiple Grammy awards under her belt and countless recognitions for her album, 21, Adele sets the bar high.

This British-Irish boy band have become the first artists from the UK to hit No. 1 in America’s music charts, passing the Beatles. Winning numerous awards in the states for their music and gaining mega recognition with “What Makes You Beautiful”, One Direction is proving that they’re not going anywhere.

3. Little Mix
With empowering lyrics, such as those heard in “Wings,” Little Mix prove they are a force to be reckoned with. They’ve become the first British girl group to be No. 4 on the American music charts, passing the Spice Girls. They are now set to open up for Demi Lovato on The Neon Lights Tour.

Hitting the states with hot song “Want U Back,” Cher Lloyd amazes with incorporating raps and beautiful, graceful tones into her songs. Compared with One Direction because they are also a five member British-Irish boy band from the UK, The Wanted distinguish themselves with differing sounds. 10. Mumford & Sons
