Every week, a new beauty trend is circulating on TikTok, and I will admit that I have fallen victim to some obscure ones. Just last week, I found myself at the nail salon asking for ‘sugar plum fairy pink that makes you skinnier’ nails because Hailey Bieber recommended them, and I’m just a girl. You can imagine the look on the nail lady’s face as she responded, “So you want baby pink.”
“Yeah, that works, thank you,” I replied a tad embarrassedly
Way to take the fun out of it, I thought. As I sat through my appointment, I pondered how else I could prepare for this autumn. Not long after, another cute little trend popped into my head, “Latte Girl Makeup,” which is just a fancier way of saying, let’s put on some brown eyeshadow.
So, I shall…
Starting off, I am preparing my face with skincare. I have been washing my face with plain and simple Cetaphil and moisturizing with Weleda’s Skin Food Light. I enjoy these products because I have sensitive skin and rosacea. The chamomile extract in the skin food moisturizes and calms my flare-ups and is light enough to survive the horrid Florida humidity.
Next, I will cover up my lack of sleep and any blemishes with my favorite concealer, The Future Fluid All Over Medium Coverage Hydrating Concealer from Milk. This formula is lightweight, hydrating, and buildable for a natural or complete glam look. I also highly recommend this concealer if you have acne-prone skin because it has a non-comedogenic, silicone-free, and oil-free formula that won’t clog pores.
I use the Makeup by Mario SoftSculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer to add some life to my face. This cream-based bronzer has a very light formula, and similarly to the concealer, it is very buildable. I use the Dark shade to add dimension to my skin. I apply it to all the regular bronze areas and my eyes to create an even base for my latte makeup.
Next, I’m going to add some blush. I like to use the Glossier Cloud Paint in the shade storm. This has been my go-to blush for years now. It is a perfect autumn color, and I like to add the same product to my lips. It is perfectly buildable and adds a subtle glow, ideal for this latte look.
For the eye look, I will use the glossier Monochrome Essential Eyeshadow trio in the shade Almond. I am not the best at eyeshadow, but this look does not require you to be. I simply use my finger to apply the metallic shade from the palette on my eyelid. This is my only eyeshadow palette because I enjoy how it elevates any look effortlessly.
Continuing, I am going to curl my lashes using the Tweezerman ProCurl. This eyelash curler is by far the best I have tried; although it is slightly more expensive, it is worth every penny. While the curler ensures that my lashes will stay up, I secure them using the Limitless Lash lengthening Mascara by Ilia. I initially tried this as a sample and have been stocked up on it since. Not only is the brand cruelty-free, but the products are genuinely unique. This mascara keeps my lashes long, separated, and gorgeous all day.
The second to last step is using my Summer Friday’s Lip Butter Balm in the Shade Cherry. I cannot begin to explain just how much I love this product. It smells fantastic, adds a perfect sheer tint, and moisturizes, which is excellent for the season change.
Finally, I set my face with powder Cloud Set Baked Setting & Smoothing from Kosas. My biggest pet peeve regarding makeup is when it looks or feels cakey. This powder seals your makeup but is also super lightweight. Making for a beautiful, complete look.
Hope this convinced you to partake in the Latte Girl Makeup trend.
