While summer isn’t officially upon us until the 21st of this month, summer break from classes is in full swing! Time to get outside and soak up some sun, right ladies? Well, while hitting the beach seems to be the most frequently suggested outdoors activity, it can be boring and overplayed by the end of summer break. Here are some other great outdoor activities to try out this summer!
Outdoor festivals:
I’m not talking music festivals (although those can be a ton of fun too), but art or food and wine festivals! These are great for getting to know your city and supporting local artists and brands. You can snag one of a kind pieces, find new favorite food spots and have fun with your friends that won’t leave you covered in sand and smelling like the ocean.
Theme parks:
Sure, theme parks can be a bit costly, but some offer great summer deals on packages. Plus if you get enough people together, you might be able to score a deal with a group rate. Theme parks offer great entertainment and a wide range of rides and activities. Sometimes they even have firework shows and special summer events that are a must!
Camping:
If you really want to get in touch with nature, but avoid the ocean, taking a camping trip is the way to go! Rent an RV or go old school with a pitched tent. Either way, it is bound to be an experience. Get a group of friends together, light a bonfire (Don’t forget to put it out when you’re done. Only you can prevent forest fires!), roast some marshmallows and watch the stars. Camping doesn’t have to be so outdoorsy either. You’d be surprised how nice tents and camping supplies can be!
No matter what you decide to do, you will surely have an amazing time if you’re with amazing friends! Enjoy your summer, collegiettes™ and make sure to put on plenty of sunscreen!
