What better way to kick-off the fall semester than with the summer finale of “Pretty Little Liars?” Before tuning in tonight, it is best to catch up as this episode is rumored to include the biggest reveal yet!
Last week on PLL there was some serious love drama going on between none-other than Aria, Jake and Ezra. Aria attempted to stay clear of Ezra the entire episode in fear of ruining her new relationship with Jake, but she just can’t avoid him any longer by the end of the episode. Disregarding Jake’s threatening tone to give him and Aria some space, Ezra relentlessly lets Aria into his place and dishes the drama going on between him and his ex-lover and supposedly mother of his child. As usual, there’s not a dull moment in Aria’s love life.
As if “A” isn’t stalker-ish enough, Hannah finds out she has an entirely new stalker when she finds an envelope of cash in her locker. This mysterious boy, Travis, claims to have seen her mother leave the woods the night Wilden was murdered–before he was killed. Of course, Hannah insists Travis take his information to the police but it takes some serious coaxing before he finally does so. Things are looking up now for Hannah and her mom!
Emily battles balancing her relationship with Paige and “A” drama the entire episode. Emily has a flashback about Ali telling her she once had a gun pulled on her because she broke up with a friend’s boyfriend for her. Emily then begins to speculate that this friend may have been CeCe. By the end of the episode, Emily drops the “A” drama and ends the night dancing with Paige at the school dance to “Dancin’ Away with my Heart” by Lady Antebellum. Go, Em!
Spencer’s love life is up in the air after this episode because she finally had to spill the beans to the girls about Toby’s mom possibly having been murdered. Spencer also told them that “A” has been giving Toby “gifts” to help him figure out the mystery behind his mother’s death. Toby, feeling as though Spencer has betrayed him, exits the school dance to follow yet another “A” trail for his mom. Last we know, Toby is running from the cops after them seeing him attempting to break into a car window.
The biggest clue we were given this episode was a bit of hinting that CeCe is Red Coat. We see her in an “A” lair along with a red coat hanging on a chair. Although we also see her back in Rosewood wearing all black even though she claimed she would “never go back there.” Is CeCe Red Coat? Is she “A?” Or is there someone else with even more power calling the shots–someone powerful enough to control CeCe, a girl who was supposedly just as “wicked” as Ali.
