TV TUESDAY: Pretty Little Liars Halloween Episode Recap

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

This year’s “Pretty Little Liars” Halloween episode was more compelling and crucial than any other. It was a prequel to the new series, “Ravenswood,” and it was confirmed that Ali is, in fact, alive. Oh, and Ezra has officially been classified as a creep (it breaks our hearts too, collegiette™.

Hannah:

Hannah spent her time in this episode getting separated from the group, locked in a phone booth and eventually saying goodbye to Caleb. Honestly, Hannah seems a bit too comfortable with this whole, “let’s send Caleb with a girl we hardly know,” adventure. We couldn’t tell if this was going to be the end of

Haleb as we know it, but we sure hope not!

Spencer:

Spencer plays the snoop, as always, in this episode and, of course, ends up alone. When separated from the group, Spencer runs into the Gas Mask Man and ends up pushing him down and actually injuring him. Go Spenc! We would be ecstatic if Ezra didn’t show up at the end, mysteriously holding his right hand in his pocket the whole time he was with the Liars—the same hand that Spencer injured on the Gas Mask Man. Sorry Ezra, we tried to pull for you as long as we could. We even had our doubts when you made a scary appearance in the finale, but this does it for us. Collegiettes(TM), I think this is the end of Ezria for us.

Emily:

Emily pretty much was along for the ride in this episode to make light of the scary situations. She had us rolling on the floor laughing when Spencer assumed one of the Liars knows how to change a tire, “And you’re looking at me because I’m gay?” Spencer had no response for that one. We love you, Em!

Aria:

Aria seems to start feeling suspicious of her man this week. We could feel the tension as Ezra mysteriously appeared right when the Liars “needed him,” and as he came to give Aria her phone back. Sorry, but when your own girlfriend starts feeling uneasy around you, we can no longer trust you, Ezra.

Ali:

She’s baaaaack! Well, was she ever really gone? In this Halloween episode we learned that Ali is alive, but has been residing outside of Rosewood because she “didn’t think it was safe” to return. We want to just accept this outcome, but we can’t help but remember all the foreshadowing in past episodes that point to a twin theory. The red coated “twins” in this episode  make us question even more. If it weren’t for Ezra returning Aria’s phone, we may have learned more about Ali!

As usual, we are left with more questions: Is Ezra the Gas Mask Man? Will Caleb fall for Miranda? If Ali is alive, was her twin the body that was originally in the grave? Does she have a twin? And the all-consuming question, who is big A?
