The 14 Stages of Sorority Big/Little Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFCA chapter.

If you have a Big and have experienced the magic that is Big/Little Week, then you’ll understand…

1. You’re already super pumped to being with, because getting a Big is one of the main reasons you rushed a sorority in the first place!

2. You are pretty sure you know who your Big is, but you’re kind of annoyed with her because she’s been acting shady and avoiding you all day…

3. Then she makes an anonymous Facebook page and continuously bothers you through social media. Your family beings to worry.

4. On the first day of Big Little Week, your big bakes you a delicious family size dessert, which you take back to your dorm and consume in one sitting.

5. You analyze all of your mysterious Bigs’ Facebook posts, looking for clues as to who it might be. Over. And over. And over again.

6. On the second day of Big Little Week, your Big makes you the most amazing sorority wall art you’ve ever seen. Everything you’ve ever seen on Pinterest just doesn’t compare, because this is from your Big!

7. On the third day of Big Little Week, you want to cry of happiness when you get SO MUCH STUFF from your Big. And then you actually cry when you realize that SHE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT YOU LIKE.

8. But you still don’t know who your Big is, therefore you cannot carry on with your normal routine (homework, sleep, paying attention in class), because your Big is literally all you can think about.

9. You are so excited about Big Little Week that you proceed to annoy all your friends, family members, and even random people in your classes, about it.

10. Your best friend from high school who is not in a sorority literally wants to kill you because you are being so annoying.

11. On the day of Big Little Reveal, you go on a scavenger hunt, but none of the clues you get apply to the girl you thought was going to be your Big, and you’re utterly confused.

12. You find your puzzle piece from your Big, and you walk into the room and search for the missing piece. When you spot it, you know exactly who it is!

13. You cry and laugh and hug your Big and meet your GrandBig and the rest of your family.

14. And you’re so happy because you’ve finally found your Big, your missing puzzle piece.
