Barbie, Meet Lammily

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

The classic Barbie doll has always had a small waist, long golden locks and legs for days. Young girls find it difficult to relate to the original doll because she has such unrealistic body proportions. Girls would have to starve and stand on their tip toes to even attempt to look similar. Well, not anymore.

Nickolay Lamm created Lammily, the average barbie doll. She has curves, blemishes, flat feet, and a waist of an average 19 year old girl.

The Lammily doll isn’t just average looking, she does inspirational things too. She cooks, snowboards, stays fit and is always ready for action.

Lammily also comes with acne, tattoo, mole, cellulite, and stretch mark stickers. This way, girls don’t have to be insecure about scars or moles they’re not fond of – if their doll has it too, it must be beautiful, right?

Barbie, meet Lammily: the doll that will inspire young girls to love their body and its flaws, happily.
