Well-known and liked by students who frequently see him on duty, Aleek Nibbs is a building manager on a mission. Mostly everyone on campus has seen him at one point or another, as he is often on the move from building to building, responding to calls for assistance.
Â
“There is a lot of work that goes into managing the campus in order for it to be presentable to customers as well as students. My job is to make sure that people have what they need for events and other activities on campus,” Aleek said.

This last Monday, Aleek worked a double shift during the USFSP Miracle Dance Marathon organization’s Lip Sync Battle event, and our team had the chance to catch Aleek in action. Watch USFSP’s Her Campus follow USC Building Manager Aleek Nibbs as he shows us what his day is like:
Â
Â
“Every part of being building manager is my favorite part: There is no downside to my job,” Aleek continued, “There is a lot of interaction with customers as well as my friends, so it makes the job enjoyable.”
Â
Although he busies himself with responding to calls and delegating tasks to setup assistants, Aleek does not forget to have fun. He is usually making coworkers laugh in the small moments of peace he manages to capture, and it goes unsaid that they appreciate his sense of humor.
Â
“Aleek’s sense of humor puts us all in a good mood, even when we have had a long day at work. His spontaneity and – there’s really no word to describe him because he is a mixture of this really awesome, hilariousness and randomness,” USC desk employee Ban Hamadeh said in regards to working alongside him.
Â
Being a building manager takes patience, persistence, and dedication: Here at USFSP, we are happy to have people like Aleek who bring these values into his work each and every day.
