EDC: Expensive Darn Clothes!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

When November rolls around, Thanksgiving is what most people look forward to. But to our raver collegiettes, EDC Orlando is the highlight of the month. All you PLUR bunnies out there know the struggle of creating the perfect outfit while on a budget. It’s true, festival attire is not cheap, but there are a few loop holes you might be willing to try…

The Flower Bra…

…is probably the most worn outfit at EDC (or any festival). They can either be handmade or bought from someone else premade. The premade option may sound appealing, but the prices for those range from $40-$100. Talk about pricey! Making it yourself has so many bonuses like adding your own personal touch and it’s not that expensive either. You just have to know where to buy them!

Thrift shops and dollar stores are your best friends. You can find great bras for under $10 at Goodwill or other shops and flowers and gems at Dollar Tree! The best part is, all of that will cost under $20, depending on how many decorations you want.

Sparkly Spanx

Booty shorts and spanx are too sexy to pass up, but too expensive to buy at rave stores. The great thing about early November is that all of the Halloween stores have big sales to get rid of all the costumes… including cute shorts. They can go as low as $5. How amazingly affordable!

Cute Crops

If you’re not the type of gal who likes to show off a lot by wearing flower bras, crops are probably your go-to! Buying them off of rave stores are, again, soooooo expensive. You can find much cheaper (and cuter) crops at stores like Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, and H&M! It might take some digging to find one that’s suitable for raving, but it’s worth the hunt.

Headbands, eye jewels, any everything else!

If you haven’t figured it out by now, the key to buying cheap rave clothes is to not buy it from rave stores!!! This includes accessories. Flower crowns, face jewels, temporary tattoos and anything else you can think of can be bought from other places! Shops like Forever 21 and Wetseal have little goodies at the checkout line that you can easily pick up for cheap.

Safe raving PLUR bunnies! Always stay safe and keep hydrated. Festivals drain your body like no other!
